SOMBRERO ISLAND ITINERARY AND BUDGET
As you might have guessed, Sombrero Island, which means hat in Spanish and in Filipino, is shaped like a hat. This tiny island off the eastern tip of Tingloy, Batangas has long been attracting day trippers due to its bountiful marine life. Sombrero Island is a good spot for snorkeling, just bring your own gears and pay the entrance fee.
The island is uninhabited so if you plan to stay overnight in Batangas, you can stay at a nearby resort in Anilao and explore other islands in Tingloy.
Since the island is quite small, you can explore it in less than an hour. Bring sunblock as the sun can toast you here and stay hydrated. There are massive rocks sprinkled around one part of the island. The windswept hill crowning the island adds more drama to the already scenic beach.
